I have made a new rule that I will not use the computer from 5 PM to 8 PM. I am allowed to do anything but touch the PC. I have been more or less regular for the past few weeks.
How to waste less time on the internet
How I did it: I started to read books, do paintings and tidy my room! It made me feel less drowsy and sluggish. It made me do things that I wanted to do for a while and gave me freedom to do other stuff. I'm tired right now so this is getting repetitive.
Lessons & tips: Just ease out of it and think of what you want to do instead.
Resources: Books, paints, canvasses, time, freedom.

It seems wasting time on the internet is a bigger problem for me than video games, since I quit console games already, and I don’t waste as much time playing computer games as I am on the internet wasting time.
I guess the first step in reaching this goal is to determine how much time I waste on the internet. Lets see how much time I wasted this week.

......wow I am totally out of control. Granted, some of these numbers are fudged but they are pretty close. How do I proceed from here?
Well, I could find something else I need to do. Well, there is actually. I’m supposed to be learning how to use Excel and Access, but I lack motivation, even though I really need it for my upcoming internship. I am currently waiting for my dad to give me some Excel tutorial software, but I”m on my own with Access.
I also was supposed to email my contact within the company about certain issues I will have traveling to China and such. I have not gotten around to it…because of the internet. Well, I’d better do it now.

Do you ever find that whenever you can’t think of anything to do, you just go on all the websites that you looked at about 10 minutes ago? i seem to go on a repetitive loop around about 10 websites.
Tonight, i concentrated on trying to finish sorting my iTunes, and to read. i have read nearly two One Piece books tonight! It feels good not to rely on the internet.
HOMETOWN GLORY Scream loud. Louder.
The only site I really go on anymore is 43things. And even then it’s just to check in and blog occasionally. I love finally having a life away from computer drama!!
I don’t know how many times I check email, read feeds, and check whose on chat. This wastes precious time and obstructs me from doing things which I would rather be doing, like reading a book, learning something new on the guitar, drawing. Maybe I should just check my email and/or feeds only once an hour :D
The internet can be a wonderfully useful tool if used wisely. I however, can fester in front of my computer screen for hours, gain nothing, and wonder where my evening has gone. I’m putting a stop to that.
I waste way too much time on the internet, I feel like its an addiction or something
