I got accepted into Beijing International Art School’s acrobatics program this past month. I’m accepted for a major in aerial silks/hoop/rope and a minor in Chinese classical dance. I applied to start in February, but there is no way I will have enough money for that so I’m postponing my entry until September. I can’t wait!

I don’t know how to format codes this way, lets see if they work.
I went to one semester of circus school when I lived in San Francisco. It was awesome, but I had to come back to boring Williamsburg. I realize I have no chance of becoming a ballerina, so why not do something 10 times as awesome? I’ve already got it planned out. While living in Beijing, I will attend Beijing International Art School and join the acrobatics program.
Should be very nice, but I need to do a lot more awesome things now to hope I get in.
Lovely way to challenge your body in ways that you never thought possible. However, it takes extreme dedication to make it a career.
I’m taking a summer intensive course at wise fool new mexico in Santa Fe. (www.wisefoolnm.org) I attend 3 times a week for three hours a session.
We’re learning:
Aerials (fabric, trapeze and cirque)
Stilts
Acrobatics
Tumbling
Juggling
Plate spinning
Hat tricks
Clowning
So far, I would say that this is the best 500 I’ve ever spent, except perhaps my skates. The course is serious, intensive and really physically challenging in a way that I did not expect. Hurray, Circus!
Drop-in classes on Friday nights…I might have to check this out when I visit.
