I’ve been amazed at how much more aware people are since the movie came out. I think there’s still more to do, more people need to be aware. But rather than people getting depressed or worried, the more folks can be encouraged about the possibility of turning things around, of making things better even if it only seems like in small ways, the more difference I think I can make in many areas.

My mom read in Time Magazine that Global Warming is here. She’s reading Gore’s book “An Inconvenient Truth”. She thinks the heat wave this summer means Gore will win in 2008, and I really hadn’t considered that he would run again, it seems as if he’s found a powerful way to contribute doing what he’s doing. I’ve been speaking to friends about this issue, but it seems as if this has been largely accomplished. When my parents are telling me about it, and it’s in Time Magazine, that perhaps the awareness is there, and perhaps it’s time to talk about solutions. I’ll work on this a little longer, but it seems that I’ve nearly accomplished this one to my satisfaction.
The movie “An Inconvenient Truth” inspired me that we have a hope of adjusting the harmful effects of excessive CO2 emissions through awareness, and also the powerful impending impact. Perhaps the greatest solution would be just to stop attempting to control all the oil in the mideast and let the price rise organically. If gasoline prices were higher, it would make biofuels and other renewable energy sources more economical, thus dramatically reducing our CO2 emissions.
A couple days ago I put an entry about this in my blog, and yesterday I got to speak about the movie An Inconvenient Truth a bit with my flight instructor and the flight school owner. I hope everyone makes the time to go see it, the issue is very relevant and timely if you’re willing to look at the evidence.
This seems to be one good start. Lots of smart people there, all working for the cause. This post in particular is leading up to some hopefully great ways to spread awareness online.
