I’ve taken the classes. Done the quizzes. Read the books. Now to rustle up the money and take the test.
How I did it: Work required me to do it - and so did IBM and HP before I could do any of there 'advanced' courses. It is often easy to forget the basics, so it was refreshing to go back and learn how all PC's came about and how they are configured etc. Read how I did it…

Edwin_watson is Wondering why people want to leave this world!
I have been watching both CBT Nugget and professor messer A+ videos! I am about 1 third complete in both of them.
I also bought a A+ book yesterday and have started learning through there!
For free raining videos go here:http://www.professormesser.com/free-a-plus-training/free-a-plus-videos
They very good and free :) If you have money buy the CBT nugget one as well :) They much more interesting than professor messer but are not as well graphicly displayed :(
I have been studying off and on for almost a year now….Its time I scheduled the test and get this done. I should have money in the next two weeks for the test.

jaklumen is walking around and continuing to recover
Have read 4 chapters so far and completed review questions for 3 of them. Not very impressive, I guess, but it’s what I can do right now.
I passed the first exam. I wish I had done better, but I guess passing is what counts! There were things on the exam I hadn’t even heard of. They were probably in chapters that I only skimmed over. Now I just have to study for the second half.

1. Just completed a checklist (Ta-da Lists with Prism) for reading the chapters and completing the review questions.
2. Family “Wall of Fame” is to motivate my daughter to get good grades in 1st grade, but wife agreed to let me use it too with this goal so she knows Daddy is committed too.

It’s going to take resources I don’t have at the moment, but will when I come home on leave from Iraq. I’m still studying. This is just postponed.

I’ve been meaning to do this for years as a way to inch closer to my goal of enhancing my geekhood. I’m always happiest when I am stretched evenly across my own personal spectrum from hardcore tech to abstracted paint buckets.
