Hike the Great Glen Way

73-mile (117 Km) Fort William to Inverness, by caledonian Canal, Loch Ness, Castles, etc.

I cycled it from the 20-23rd August 2007, its much better doing it from Fort William to Inverness direction in my opinion! it was absolutely amazing – the sun shone all the time for the first time that summer! This summer I’m aiming to hike the west highland way. Oh but DO NOT stay in the Loch Ness Backpacker hostel in drumnadrochit – its absoluely awful and not really three stars as it claims! (not even half a star if you ask me). However, Morags Lodge in Fort Augustus is fantastic.

I hiked the Great Glen Way between August 17-22, 2007, walking from Inverness to Fort William. Good trip! I’d like to try the West Highland Way sometime, too – I hear it’s even better
