let's get back into this, shall we? 15 months ago

Greg and I attempted screenprinting a while back, but gave up before we got good at it. I just bought the book Print Liberation last week (written by one of my coworkers) and am looking forward to jumping back into it. Yay!

knowing screen printing is useful knowledge 2 years ago

I was paid to learn the art of screen printing in a factory setting. I worked for Jostens/Artex for almost five years. I learned to print first, then learned about making screens and then went to being the touch-up artist and then to quality control inspector. Yes, some of those t-shirts and other garments you buy at the store are not perfect. Some have been touched up by hand. That does not take from the quality of the article though. It actually adds to it in a round about way.
Having been paid to learn this, I can do it on my own without the benefit of a factory setting and accomplish the same thing and then some! I am not limited to screen printing on fabric. I can screen print paper or whatever I want to screen print.
You won’t be disappointed to learn this knowledge~! Go for it!

I’m giving this up for now as I don’t have the time and the urge has subsided a whole lot. I will add this goal again when I start feeling the need to put my own art onto t-shirts and things. Until then, I give up.

I read a few guides, and I’m pretty sure I could do this pretty easily… I just need to get some inks and such.

Do not try the embroidery hoop method. It’s just so stupid! Do yourself a favor, go to dick blick and do it right.

I’m not paying 100 bucks for a frame and I can’t build anything to save my life. I’m temporarily giving up.

Ok, so now I know how to do it. Now, the question is .. do I want to? Yeah I do, but Cafepress.com is so easy.

I tried the embroidery hoop method and it sort’ve worked. I’m not quite sure I modge podged very correctly. Anyhow. I need to find a frame someplace I suppose.
