start painting

First step: I’ve bought an easel today. Yipee :-)

Alex, my Peace Corps Volunteer friend and sitemate, gave me canvas (actual canvas that I can wrap around a frame and make any size I want) and oil paint and brushes for me to start learning! I am very excited. I just need to learn how to oil paint now…

Painting used to be my favorite thing to do! I rarely paint anymore but I really want to start doing this more often. I already have some paint & want to buy a new canvas soon.

I think it’d be a good idea to post our paintings on here to encourage eachother to keep at it :)

When I was young, I always painted. Usually every night. But now, I just don’t do that anymore. So, while I’m thinking about it, I’ve decided that I should start painting once more, because I always thought it was fun and exciting, so why not do it again?

Tablet is very expensive !!!
But I am satisfied with it ^^

I got all the equipment for this, the brushes palette, easel everything :-) feels cool, I have to make up my mind and start it! :D

I begain my first work. I had been taking my time collecting my materials but now it has all come togehter. Painting is FUN!!

I don’t know if it counts, but I got to do some face painting at my daughter’s elementary school today. I had a lot of fun painting their cute little faces. I think I will go get some paints this weekend so I can paint here at home. I can’t wait.

I’m starting the wheels moving on painting. I bought a few small canvases, a set of oil paints and a mixing palette. I still need to get hold of some linseed oil, turps and a few books of my favourite artists for inspiration… just to get me started and used to using the oils. My ex girlfriend used to paint a lot with oils, it didn’t look that hard. I get the feeling that’s going to be mistake number 1…
