My camera body was put in for a clean and service last week and two lenses have been sent to Sydney for repair work. After visiting every photographers forum imaginable seeking to determine a focal problem with my wide-angle lens, I concluded that my technological expertise had an inherent ceiling and I would be foolish to seek to diagnose the problem myself… therefore let the experts decide.
With no pressing photographic commitments, the last few weeks provided me with the perfect time to relinquish my lenses… time which has long been sought after but has thus far proved invariably elusive.

For a company who boast in simplicity, their service is anything but. After ringing the company last week and being assured that all that was needed was for me to drop the camera off at their head office in Brisbane and the camera would be available for pickup two or three days later, I thought it would indeed be a ‘simple’ process.
I drove to Cannon Hill this morning which was about an hour’s drive out of my way only to find that the servicing was indeed not done on site but the camera would have to be sent to Sydney and I could expect it back in about 4 weeks time.
I hope therefore to get a minor service on the camera next week when I return from Melbourne at the local camera shop and the week following if nothing infringes on my plans – I will get the camera couriered to Canon who will then pass it on to their Sydney Service Centre.
Life is never without dramas…

and due for a service. My Canon camera hasn’t been serviced for the past year that I’ve had it so it is well due for one in addition to the fact that I’ve got one of those delightful unexplainable error messages.
I contacted Canon yesterday and found the local service centre at 18 Southgate Avenue Canon Hill – now just to get the camera over there this week!
