Coding is OK, but I don’t have a huge passion for it. I’ve screwed up my career to the point where only a huge passion for it can get me back on track for a coding career, and frankly I don’t want /that/ career that badly.

I use it quite a bit for work—hacking around with poorly-constructed legacy code, largely. I understand OOP, MVC frameworks, and the basics of programming, and I want to find more ways to extend my knowledge of PHP.
This needs to be measurable, so here’s my specific goal:
I will be able to list 5 useful things I learned about PHP that I did not know at the adoption of this goal.

PHP Mastery turns out to only take a couple years… being a “good programmer” (code ninja), I realized, takes a bit longer. Tho’ I think I’m almost there.
For “quick and easy” it’s hard to beat PHP … I’m very interested in Ruby (on Rails) now, and also actively delving into the great beast called Java.
