Hello plus size ladies and teens. My name is Jacqueline Lawrence. I am the CEO and Founder of In Full Bloom Modeling and Pageantry Academy, where we specialize in plus size modeling and pageantry workshops (www.ifbacademy.com). I became a plus size model in the early 80s when plus size modeling was not fashionable. I did it because my heart desired it. From modeling, I went on to pageantry, and then, from teaching modeling and pageantry. As much as I love modeling, I enjoy teaching the art much more because I get so much satisfaction from seeing people’s lives change. There’s one thing I’ve noticed about people who say they want to be/become plus size models…few really want to be a part of the profession, but most really want to look and feel their very best. Modeling isn’t just for the catwalk, but also for the sidewalk. Once most women leave that stage after their very first show, their minds are transformed, and there is little in the world that can stop them from reaching their goals. I recommend plus size modeling for every plus size woman and teen. It causes one to not only feel better about oneself on the stage, but even more importantly, off the stage. Some say that it is not necessary to attend modeling school. Although I believe you either got it or you don’t, all of us can stand to get better. Even those on America’s Next Top Model need to brush up on their skills and get critiqued to become their best. Take the plunge and shoot for the moon. Who knows…if you miss it, you might just catch a star. Life is short, be all you can be. Go for it! God bless.

I am wanting to become a plus size model mainely becuase I feel I can bring something new and different into the industry..I am a full time student and a full time worker. Currently my occupation is customer service for at&t I love my job but it is not what I want as a career even if I don’t make it as a model career wise I want it to be known that I put my foot forward and I went the extra mile to make this happen. But if do not have modeling as my career I still want to have a portfolio put together…And I will recognize beauty from the inside and the outside.

everyone is always telling me how pretty i am and how i should be a model i have always wanted to be a plus size model but i never really set my mind on it till now i want people to notice that size does not matter that everyone is beautiful in there own way

I want to do more modeling. I have had my feet wet and now I’m ready to dive in to this thing head first. I am looking for any work that will give me concrete experience (and prints) in the industry.

I’ve wanted to model for as long as i can remember. The only problem is that I wear a size 14 and people only want size 7 or smaller. I’m sorry but real woman have cures. Dose anyone else agree?

Yes I said it…Its my DREAM to become a plus-sized model. I know you are asking yourself “has she ever modeled?”.. and the answer would be No not professionally but I love the camera and as you can see in my photos the camerea loves me back. I have really great measurments to be a plus sized model(12-14 JEAN SIZE) and I am very adaptable in all situations and I am a VERY quick learner. Basically I am tired of people stating you have such a pretty face…so I would love to be on the runway to show those people that THICK girls are sooooo much more.
