go hang-gliding

Well, I looked into this on the web. It looks like I can get a single lesson with equipment for about $120. If I want to take enough lessons to gain some proficiency, I will have to spend at least $1000. I think I will try the single lesson and see what I think.

This goal will always sit on my list unless I actually take action. So today I search for hang-gliding in my area.

We went on Look Out Mountain, a couple years ago. I don’t remember if it’s located in GA or TN – I was visiting both.

I was really nervous/excited before going up, but once we got up high enough and dropped the line from the airplane, it was absolutely beautiful. I could have fallen asleep up there, it was so chill. I did go tandem (with an instructor glued to my side), but he was nice and it was wonderful either way. I’d go again in a heart beat!

I was going to do this for my 50th birthday but ended up talking myself out of it for various reasons (late fall weather might not be as good, etc) but I never have stopped wanting to go.

It was awesome!! Definitely worth doing. I used the company Kitty Hawk Kites at Currituck County Airport. I would recommend this to anyone who’s even slightly interested in checking out hang-gliding.

...now it’s just up to Mother Nature to be kind on Saturday, Aug 4th! I’ll be hang-gliding the Outerbanks of NC.

So yeah I found this place called New York Hang Glide, and I am so gonna save up for it! This really is the most personally exciting thing on my list! I have been waiting my entire life to do this!

I said I was going to do this for my 30th birthday but didn’t b/c I was tight on money. But I still want to do it. Hopefully before my 31st birthday. I know it will be better than skydiving.

I’ve always wanted to do this.. I hope I will be able to someday. Flying is something I really want to do – not flying in a big jet or something like that, but hanging from a giant kite.

just like flying.
