    Manon 13 months ago

I’m aiming for the Australian Ballet’s performance of Manon at the Opera House, in late Novemeber/early December…by that time I should be comfortable leaving Cullyn with a sitter I think. It also gives Matt plenty of time to plan a beautiful wine and dine ;)

    Standing Ovation! 14 months ago

We went on Wednesday and saw a gorgeous ballet. I loved every moment and it was over way too soon!

Actually I felt so overcome with emotions of happiness just sitting there that I almost cried when the lights dimmed and the orchestra started and this was before the ballet had even begun! Just imagine me at the end!

Everyone who loves theatre or music should go see a ballet even if you think it’s not “your thing.” How can you know if you never experience it? The performing arts are always worth supporting and yes I will be going again! I loved it as did everyone I went with.

I love the ballet! To watch the amazing things they can do with their bodies, with so much strength and yet so much grace. We went about a year ago as his gift for my birthday. He was excited because he loved the book as a kid, as did I. It was so fun to get dressed up and went out to a fancy dinner first. Everything about the show was great, the sets and costumes were great and I like to watch the choreography of non-traditional dancing. Everything except the music, which was poorly done with electronic noise. I love to see and hear a real orchestra.

My mom and aunt used to take us to the Nutcracker every year in the beautiful Wheeler Opera House. We all loved it. I hope to go again soon.

Saw a concert in Vienna which had some ballet in it. Was lovley. Will only mark this as done once I have seen a full show.

I really ought to go again. 2 years ago

It’s a while since I went to the ballet and I do so love it. Hmmm maybe I can combine this with a trip to St Petersburg and see the Marinsky?

My dad was supposed to go to the ballet with someone but they cancelled, so he asked me if I wanted to go instead and of course I said yes. We went last night; it was sleeping beauty and was performed by the Russian State Ballet of Siberia. It was fantastic, the dancing left me in awe and the costumes and music were amazing. I defiantly want to go again, just have to find somewhere else to go

This one can be ticked off soon – Chris is taking me to see Sleeping Beauty on December 21st (along with our chums Julie and Rik and Tim and Claudia) :)

Yea, I finally, finally went last week. It was wonderful and I can’t wait to go again.

    3rd try 2 years ago

Okay, last time I was supposed to go to the ballet my best friend got dumped so I cancelled. I have tickets for next week, so that I can go right after work….. Hope I make it this time! I’m really looking forward to it.

    Giselle 2 years ago

The Colorado Ballet will be doing Giselle while we will be in the States for six weeks this fall. Hopefully we will go!!!

Our 46th season opens with the romantic classic, GISELLE, about a peasant girl who falls for a prince and then dies, broken hearted. Her hauntingly beautiful afterlife demonstrates how love can sometimes be even more powerful than death. Written in the 19th century by Théophile Gautiere and originally performed at the Paris Opera in 1841, Colorado Ballet’s version this year includes costumes and set designs from American Ballet Theatre. Come experience the magic and power of this famed ballet classic!
