ADD is messy  — 3 days ago

Yes, I blame my ADD for this one. I am currently reading a book on ADD friendly ways to organize my life and another one on achieving daily focus. This will need the most work of all my other goals because even when I get everything organized it falls apart within a day or two. I am currently in the process of developing a strategy for this.

working on it, much progress made so far :)  — 4 weeks ago

This past weekend I went through half my room, dusting, organizing, throwing away old and unneeded useless things, and re-organizing the things I kept. My room is looking a lot better already and I’m enjoying the results! I got rid of a LOT of clothes, which is great, because my drawers were so overstuffed that I could hardly close them, and most of it was old stuff I had just hung onto for no reason and never even wear anymore. So the inside of my dresser is much more organized. I still have a few sections of my room that I need to work on, like my jewelry stuff and art stuff, but most of it is done. It feels good :)

Worth doing!

My house is so unorganised, my business is not in order and my systems of managing money and other things are out of sinc. I’ve just invested in a good calender system for my business, which i can also use for my life, which is quite handy. I’ve listed all my tasked outstanding and am going to tick them off my done list when i’m finished. My money is organised in excel which is a very effective way of planning the next 12 months. My house is tidy, but i want to sort out all the rubbish hidden away inside the cupboards and get rid of what i don’t need in my spare time. I’ve also got my spare room which needs organising into an office as soon as i get a chance.

Not measurable  — 2 years ago

Not a great goal for me. Need a little chaos & disorganization in my life.

I'm so proud of myself!  — 2 years ago

I am in the process of doing this. It’s not finished yet, but I’m getting there. I think the hardest thing is just getting started. If you just take on one thing at a time, it is a whole lot easier. Needless to say, my house was a mess. I just started in one corner and when that corner was done, I just kept going.

A week 'til school starts  — 2 years ago

Give or take a few days. Second grade, here we come.

Today we’re off to buy school supplies, plus some stuff I need to get & stay organized in my role as PTO executive committee member and strategic planner, while still holding down a day job. In a week, we should be able to move the kid into his own newly-remodeled room, which means getting bookshelves and such to store his stuff.

Soccer practice starts in three days, and I’m trying to get everything else lined up & in a routine before then, so it can be added in.

I can almost see the top of my desk. Kitchen table’s next.

It all fits, somehow  — 3 years ago

Declutter. Get and stay organized. Be more social. Own my own home. There’s definitely a theme going in my Things.

My ‘home office’ (in my kitchen) desk is visible at the moment. I’ve been pretty ruthless, tossing stuff that I know is useless, stuff I’ve held onto for no apparent reason. Some stuff that probably should fit into that category is at least stashed away where I might be able to find it should I need it. More likely, when I get to that stash in the declutter schedule, it’ll get tossed out then.

Really, I have little need for keeping paper records of AmEx bills from 2004. Really.

Ties to email  — 3 years ago

I somehow feel more ‘organized’ (even when the rest of the house is a pit) when I’m current on email correspondence tied to my hobbies/personal pursuits. That’s odd.
