It is an awesome relic of American history.
How I did it: My parents were driving me cross country to Florida and it was on the way so I made them take a detour. We got lost for four hours finally found it and when we did it was closed so the security guy said to go in and turn around. We just drove from Idaho in the middle of a snow storm and would must likely never be there again, so we went to the front parking spot and ran to the entrance like criminals took a bunch of pics saw more security and and ran back to the car. We were there maybe 10 minutes, but I saw Mount Rushmore.
Lessons & tips: Parents are at large criminals.
Resources: The local people

It was quite a drive up the mountain, but we finally made it to see Mt. Rushmore. We had about an hour of sunlight left, and were able to enjoy it during the sunset. We didn’t stay to watch the nightly show, however. We just drove over 500 miles that day, and we needed some rest.
