Find at least fifty letterboxes in the US

Wheee! Finally got fifty while out with ma mom this weekend. I’m getting me my F50 merit badge as soon as they’re available again.

Picked up 2 more in Rhinebeck, NY and 3 more in Wawayanda State Park in NJ along with another in NJ. Have also picked up several hitchikers along the way that need to be placed elsewhere. We’ll keep one to hide in Wyoming when go there this summer. So far our tally is 21 and growing.

Found all 5 in South Dakota. Great fun following the clues and adding to our book. In September we went to Newport and tried our luck in Tiverton in a park trail that gave us 3 more stamps. They were all in the same park and the stamps fit together like a puzzle. It was wet and I was muddy and tired but we did it. So far I’ve got 5 different states: New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Pennsylvania. Next year, I’m hoping to get at least one in Wyoming. If I’m lucky another in Washington.

So far I’ve found six. South Dakota trip hopefully will add five more.

The most unusual was the Lemon Squeezer in Tuxedo New York. Near the Appalachian Trail, we had to ‘squeeze’ though a fizzure in a huge boulder to get to the other side and followed the creek to the ruins of an old settler’s cabin. Cool!
