I love it when things work out and I actually find the book I went hunting for :)
Even better when one just shows up when you’re not expecting it!

    Bookcrossing event 2 years ago

There was this big bookcrossing event that was organised today in a city not too far from where i live. It was amazing! There were so many books, every five meters or so there was a book. I was tempted
to take them all home! I found 3 and let go 4 of my own books!

Definitely will participate again in a bookcrossing event, it’s like
    hunting for Easter eggs!

I was so excited 2 years ago

yesterday when I found my very first bookcrossing book at a restaurant. Yay! It’s not really my kind of book, but I’ll give it a try, just because it’s my first bookcrossing find. Then I’ll release it later. This has inspired me to release more bookcrossing books, maybe even at that same restaurant next week. What fun!

    43Things BookBox? 2 years ago

I started my very first book box last year and it was lost to the infamous tammysavala. (Here’s the journal http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/4573523 and forum link http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/20/3957781)

In honor of Winslow and his book box I will be creating two new boxes. One box will go out to the people who signed up for the first one that was lost. I thought it might be fun to send out the second one to 43Things BCers. The box with contain books, a single use camera and a stuffed pig named “Dotty”.

    Here are the “rules”

    1. Dotty travels along with the book box and a disposable camera to each participant.

    2. Each Bookcrosser to receive her book box must take two pictures of her having an adventure in an effort to complete one of their 43Things goals. When they write their release notes they will explain what Dotty was doing in each of her pictures.

    3. After doing so the Bookcrosser sends her and her camera on to the next BCer along with at least as many books as there were in the box when she arrived.

    4. Each BCer that receives the box must have a 43Things account and be actively trying to complete goals from it.

    The “catch”

    1. You must agree to pass the box along! After the incident with Winslow’s box my family is so sad and I don’t think we could take it if another “friend” was lost.

    2. You must agree to pass the box along within a week and a half of receiving it.

    So, who’s in?
I would like to have at most 10 people at a time. However, I think it would be fun to send her out to 43 BCers before she retires!

(PS-You will be able to follow her adventures on The Traveling Moose Blog here http://thepookiemoose.blogspot.com/2007/04/welcome-dotty.html )

Found 2 books in one town in Europe while I was visiting a friend. The only 2 I have ever seen!

    caught! 2 years ago

I think it would be amazing to catch a bookcrossing book and be part of the karma of that book and part of a chain of a wonderful process that can have such a positive effect on people’s lives, as I think something as simple as bookcrossing can bring a lot of joy to a lot of people.

and send more out! 2 years ago

I have only been on BookCrossing two weeks. I’ve released seven books so far, and I find it easier to give up books that I have been hoarding. I’d love to meet other BookCrossers and find a book or two, also. I don’t want to end up having even MORE books in the house than I do now, as many BookCrossers say they do! :D One of my goals is to always give more books away than I receive!

I've found two books in the wild, it was such a thrill that 2 years ago

I treated myself to coffee and left a dollar tip. I also have gone hunting for books and found 1 at Michael’s. Trips to local OBCZ have been very successful, I found 15 books this week during a local roadtrip yahoooooooooooooo~~

    Sahara 3 years ago

I have been a Bookcrossing member for at least two years. In the beginning I put out two books and became very discouraged when I never learned their fate. I continued to get updates regarding book crossing and occasionally visited to try and rekindle the fire that I felt when I first heard of the concept, nothing. Then one day out of the blue it happened, there in the gym that I visit was a book with the big yellow sticker. I squealed with glee and told everyone. That evening I purchased the starter kit for releasing books, that was about three months ago. My new goal is to release some new books including the one that I found, Sahara.
