until further notice….it makes me sad to see this up here when i am not able to do it right now….someday :)
How to learn how to make a quilt
How I did it: I bought a $100 sewing machine. I bought tons of fabric on clearance and practiced, practiced, practiced. I did not have time for any classes, so I watched video or how toos on line. I read books, and studied patterns from books and magazines and websites. Most of all just relax and be creative, don't try to be perfect. I started with rag quilts. Anyone can do those, then moved on to baby quilts. Start with beginner patterns and playing colors together. There are plenty of free patterns online. Try allcrafts.com or allpeoplequilt.com Most large fabric chains online have free patterns you can download. I would go to the local craft and/or fabric store, go to the quilting supplies or fabrics and you will almost always meet someone there who wants to talk about what they are working on and can give you great tips. It takes years to be good at making a quilt. But it is a very rewarding hobby.
People doing this are also doing these things:
