Smart Balance peanut butter has omega 3 in it – vegan even. Hurray! I’m calling this done. Eating it with apples and celery.
How to eat more omega 3
How I did it: I started eating vegetarian omega 3 in peanut butter. I did a bit of research and looked at some labels. A few taste tests later I was there.
Lessons & tips: Look at ingredients, as always. A bit of research online.

Ah, peanut butter. Something I never eat. Well, I found some peanut butters with vegetarian Omega 3 sources. Hurray! I may have to start eating peanut butter…
I want to take more Omega-3 because it will reduce cortisol levels in your body, making you less prone to stress or more capable of handling stress. (As a bonus less cortisol means less belly fat, but that’s not the point.)
So, omega-3 is really easy to get from fish or alternatively from fish oil pills like what Wood’s Tea is doing. I am vegetarian (eggs and dairy type), so I won’t do fish. JohnnyBoy got his through some yogurt, but I can’t have yogurts (most, anyway) because of the gelling agent/vegetarian thing.
I researched a very small bit and it looks like I can get Omega-3 from Flaxseed oil. I’m hoping to find it at my grocery store and be able to add it to food. I get sick and forgetful of pills. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just eat more Walnuts (also a good source)!
Did this every day last week. I’m trying to take one each morning and evening. I plan to pick up some more at Trader Joe’s this week when I am in Portland.
Under docs orders, I am to increase intake of omega 3s. She says to take fish oil supplements daily.
So my goal: take fish oil capsules every day for a month to get the habit going.
