—this is an idea that came to me last week: whenever I’m walking in the neighborhood & not in a rush, I’m going to pick up bits of trash/litter along the sidewalk. Walking home from church (6 blocks) is ideal for this. So I did it both last Sunday & today. Maybe I’ll even get in the habit of carrying a bag for the purpose.
It won’t solve any of our big environmental problems, but it’s a small way to show love for the earth & my neighbors (human & otherwise) here in my Chicago neighborhood.

I’m pretty sure Earth Day is 22nd April, WWF and other sites say it is, although there was one site which said it was 21st March… So I’ll wish people a Happy Earth Day tomorrow anyway!
