I’m 13 and i was always goth i just wasn’t accepting it. i finally accepted it and im trying to become a better goth!!!!

How I did it: By accident. I wasn't actually a proper goth. I never went 'all - out' on this, though I may have looked cooler if I had... But it still caused people to yell 'goth' at me, and didn't do anything for my popularity.
Short black leather jackets were in fashion at the time, but not it seemed for my track-suit wearing high school peers, who saw this as a sign of 'goth-ness' - my black hair too (I'd simply temporarily fallen out with 'boring' brown.) I hung around with people who were goths/moshers/etc because they were generally friendlier people, (the only people in fact who were actually nice to me in school) but the more I hung around with them the more I was assumed 'one of them' and shunned from other social circles.
Lessons & tips: What I suggest is that you should just BE YOURSELF instead of conforming with friends or other groups. By being 'goth' some people think they're being different, but they're not, they're no different than any of the other stereotypical groups they pour their disdain on, whether it be chavs, cheerleaders, jocks, whatever. One goth looks much the same as another goth. It's boring. It's uniform. Why wear anyone else's uniform? Mix it up a little. Dare to be different, actually different.
I'm not going to tell you life after high school is better or that these rules no longer apply, but have the courage to rise above it.
