i do so love to do this!.....i’m actually very good about doing this,,,i put alot of effort when i’m away some place new to find specific postcards for my friends & family, and write out two or three to different people every day of my trip. I had a running joke with one friend, every time i was in a new american city—there was this series of postcards that said: “Chicago at Night” or “Kansas City at Night”, and the picture was of an absolutely pitch-black nothing…. (lol)

Several of my friends are really good at this as well; i have quite a collection of postcards from my traveling pals, and from my parents when they traveled - i need to assemble them in nice photo album at some point. I heard there’s been a book published of the many postcards sent back & forth between the Beatles to each other - what a fascinating correspondence that’d be to read!

One other thing i’ve gotten in the habit of doing while i’m traveling, is to write a daily postcard to myself. I started just writing one at the very end of my travels, to kinda “sum up” the trip, & also see if my postcard beat me back home. ;) Then i started writing out a postcard each day to myself, about whatever struck me the most of that day’s adventures, impressions….now i’m to the point where i try write the lines in rhyming verse.
