it’s probably clear that we did not do the Race for the Cure. Personality tendencies becoming clear… we both have a tendency to back out of things if not committed early on. Tendency noted. Well, Halloween plus crazy school situation combined to make us miss this.
So what race will it be?!

are planning to do the Race for the Cure on Nov. 1. It’s just 5 k, but a great way to get back in the game. Need to sign up – maybe this weekend? I’m excited.
So nice to have a man in my life who wants to do this kind of thing with me – and support me in my goals. <3 Amazing!

Ah, yes, the season of fun runs and charity races has begun. This one was called “women’s run” and there were around 5000 women running on not-very-wide park trails. We actually walked more than we ran due to constant traffic jams ;), but hey, at least the company was nice. :) My friend and I sprinted for the last 200 metres to get a sub-40 min result and finished the 5K walk/run race in 39:40.

I decided it was a bit ridiculous to be making entries under “run a marathon” when I’m barely making it three miles, so I made an interim goal – to run a race, any race, any distance. So I’m running three miles about three times a week and it’s getting easier. I’ve even been getting up in the morning to run, and I have more energy and feel a lot better.

Less than two weeks to go now, I´’d better kick my ass in gear. Nothing like a bit of pressure to do so! Is this the story of my life?? Well, at least I have been fairly proactive by making these goals.

Up to about 1hr and 20 min, not consistently but it certainly can be increased. Kind of sad that I can’t just turn it up a lot more but oh well, that is life at the moment. Take what you can get.

Well, it’s not my very first race ever but it’s long overdue. I will be running the Ottawa Half-Marathon which is well within my means with some training. I plan on entering with my kids on Saturday the 23rd of May to do the 1, 5 and 10 km and then Sunday doing the half marathon by myself.

How about a triathlon on Canada day: http://www.somersault.ca/eventnationalcapital.htm
National Capital Triathlon, August 1
or…
canoe/kayak tri
In the Kayak division, a participant completes the kayak, cycle, and the run solo. In the canoe division, the participant has a partner of the same gender in the canoe portion of the tri, but completes the remainder of the event solo. The Canoe Tri costs $10 more than the Kayak Tri. The paddle will be up Mooney’s Bay towards Black’s Rapids to the 2Km turn around and back to the beach, where you join the other triathletes and duathletes on the cycle and the run.

No significant update here, but I do plan on tracking my running at the gym once I join. If anyone has any good training routines to get ready for a 10k, then feel free to reply with them.
