I signed up for Ravelry (a knitting community website), which in turn motivated me to get the paid Flickr account. The site lets users post pictures from their Flickr accounts, and many of my earlier knitting projects weren’t in my photostream as I’d exceeded 200 pictures.
It probably didn’t hurt that, the weekend I bought the pro account, the Canadian dollar was pretty close in price to the US dollar.
Just bought one so I can catch up on uploading all my photos – haven’t uploaded any since October.
I exceeded my 200 free photo limit and now take more photos knowing I will not soon exceed my Pro limits.
I’ve got plenty of money, but the sad thing is: I haven’t been taking very many photographs in the past year. But maybe if I did pay for it it would give me a reason to start again?
Finally just sucked it up and figured, hey, what’s 24 bucks? I can share pics with you wonderful people.
Anyway, this is worth doing, and will encourage me to take more pictures. Hopefully better ones too!
oh man oh man! this is part of my don’t be ghetto about your life attempts, and I would love to be able to upload more pictures (god knows I have TONS). I swear to do it soon! If only I could upload all day ;-)
I keep putting this off but I’ve discovered yet another good reason to go “pro”.
The free account only shows the most recent 200 photos you’ve uploaded. I hadn’t realized that before.
Actually it is the first time I ever paid for a hosted service on the web. And there was not one day I regret it. Go FLICKR! :)
