have my own studio apartment

My home has taken a big leap forward on the decoration front now that I finally have my bookshelf. :)
My library corner (:D) is now almost finished! All of my most important books luckily fit into the bookshelf. And I’m really proud to say that I assembled the bookshelf all by myself, wohoo! (I had help with the backboards because I didn’t have a hammer before. I had to wait to borrow one from mum & she also helped me to hold the backboards in place while I was nailing them down.)

I also finally got something up on my walls.

Now there’s still the other big wall left, I’ll make a huge collage on it at some point. :)

My hall is finished now, too. The black&white drawer is where it needs to be and I also got a shelf for all my scarves and stuff. I like it.

Ahh, home ♥

I’ve been waiting for my bookshelf for almost a week now and I was planning on calling the furniture shop today, to ask what’s going on
but they beat me to it and woke me up in the morning, asking me if I had been contacted about the shelf yet.
I could have gotten it delivered tomorrow but unfortunately I have classes, so I’ll be getting my bookshelf on Thursday. Better late than never.
Then I’ll need to assemble it. :D I hope it works out and actually becomes a working bookshelf.

I’m hoping to get a vacuum cleaner in a week, then I can properly clean my home. Can’t wait for it.

Otherwise, there hasn’t been much progress on the decoration front. I still haven’t put anything on the walls but I’ll try to do it sometime soon. I have a second carpet in the hall, I moved the black&white drawer under my coats like I planned and it looks good there.
There are some small new items on my list of things to buy, we’ll see when I manage to get everything.

I’m so happy that I have my own home. :) I would not give this up for anything at the moment.
Now I’ll need to start practicing on leaving home a bit. :’D I should go out more, explore the neighbourhood, just go hang out at the city centre and experience more and do stuff with my friends. I shouldn’t just stay home all the time, when I’ve got such great possibilities to really living. Then it’ll feel even better to come back home.

Okay, I made some finishing touches this morning and then took some photos so that you can see what my home looks like now! :)

This is a view from the hall, the left side to be precise. You can’t see the closet door from this shot, but it’s on the left, right outside of the photo.
I’m still working on the area where the coats are hanging _{(Ryis said that it’s called a closet, too, but I’m finding it hard to believe :D)}.

And here’s the inside of my closet. It’s a big one! :) My studio is pretty “high”, so there’s even room above the shelves, I can fit quite a lot of boxes there. It’s very good.

Here is the right side of the hall. The door with the green stripe on it leads to the bathroom.

It was a little complicated to take a photo of the bathroom, but you get the idea, I would assume. :P

When you move to the actual living space, you’ll find my bed and my red armchair on the left side of the room. :)
The armchair won’t stay there, however – I’m planning on moving it when I get my bookshelf.
I’d also really like to change my curtains into brown ones at some point.

Oh I almost forgot about this corner! This is my biggest ‘work in progress’. That black & white drawer won’t stay there, it’ll go under the coat area in the hall when I just get two bricks to lift it up a bit. The armchair will replace it then, at least that’s the plan.
And my bookshelf will come in front of the mirrors.
Not quite sure what exactly I’ll do with the built-in shelves, but the below ones are my kitchen cupboards at the moment, hehe. I might put some of my movies there because I need more space for them. (Or maybe I’ll just get them their own shelf or something.)

There will be some changes to the area by the window – for example, that brown cupboard won’t stay there. I’d really like to get this long, narrow, low table there but those tend to be expensive. Maybe one day.

Then there’s the tv corner. I’m still not completely sure if I want to keep that tv “table”, I got it from my mum. It’s quite nice, but if I ever happen to get that table I was just talking about, this one will have to go.

My grandfather made this kitchen table many many years ago! :) I really like it, and the chairs too.
And here you can also see the piece of furniture I mentioned in one of my previous entries: the little brown stool. I’m really loving it, it’s exactly what I had been wanting! n__n

My kitchen corner. Quite nice, even though I wish I had more cabinets there and an oven would be handy, a freezer too. Oh well, I’ll manage anyway.

The biggest thing missing at the moment is the bookshelf and I’ll also need to put something on the walls. I’ll probably do a collage once again.

Ahhh, my home ♥

Phew, I’ve been unpacking and organizing pretty much the whole day and there aren’t many things left now; no boxes left unopened. n__n I’ve had tons of fun – my back hurts and I’m tired, but I’ve been so excited that I couldn’t stop! :D Now I’m done for the day, I’ll do the rest tomorrow. I’ll also take some photos tomorrow for you to see!
Oh how I wish that I had my bookshelf already. I’ll probably get it in a week. Then I can put my books somewhere, ahh.
Oh this place is wonderful &hearts! My own home (nope, not done with that mantra yet, sorry :D), I’m loving all this so much. _{Even despite the fact that I could have actual kitchen cupboards, hmmm. But I’ll manage, hehee.}
I also managed to take care of some necessary paperwork today, hurray! I’ll start to get my mail here on Monday.
It’s all good. :)

I got home a little over two hours ago and I’ve been so ridiculously happy ever since. The moment I stepped inside, I started to smile widely. Home, home, home. My own home. ♥ ♥ ♥
Mum and I brought some of my things here from Karvia and we also went shopping a bit, I found some important and nice things, yay. And! I found the exact piece of furniture I’ve been yearning for! ♥ And my mother bought it for me as a present. n___n

I haven’t unpacked much tonight, I’ve just been taking in the wonderfulness of my own home and talking to my friends online. It’s been a lovely night. I did make the bed ready at least, I’m loving my pillows~ I want to get a mountain of pillows! :D
Tomorrow I’ll try to unpack most of my stuff.

Aaahhhh, home ♥ I couldn’t be happier.

It’s weird – I moved today, to my own wonderful studio
but still I’m not there now but at my mum’s. :D

The move went fine and quickly, we got all of my stuff onboard the van right away so we didn’t have to make a second trip to Kappelinkatu. We carried everything into my studio, then picked up my bed and battled to get a bookshelf (I won’t even go into details with that, it was so annoying) and drove back.
And then everything was there and the place still didn’t feel small! It just felt… perfect ♥ :)

Can’t wait to go back there on Monday, but first I’ll enjoy the rest of my weekend back home, just relaxing.
Mum and I will do some shopping on Monday, we’ll try to find some of the necessary things for my new home.
Next week will be so much fun! I’ll be home~

You know what? I’ve finished packing pretty much all of my stuff already! :DDD Efficient, aren’t I!
So I don’t think I need to visit this old flat after tomorrow.

Hurraaaaay, I’m free from my studies! n___n This means that I can start packing now, yay! :D

After my last exam I went to my new wonderful beautiful fantastic lovely own studio ♥ I was just ridiculously happy there, in the empty apartment. I just giggled and kept turning around to get a good look of everything. I hang my red curtains, explored the place and sat on the floor, making lists about things to bring & buy.
And I took some photos! Here’s one for you since I know that some of you are curious :D I’m standing on one of the corners, next to the window. The place is pretty much a square. In the photo you can see the small kitchen corner, behind that is the bathroom (which you obviously can’t see in the pic), there’s the hall and the closet; I don’t think I need to explain the rest, hehe. _{And yes, I had to decorate the fridge straight away :D}

So now I’ll start putting all of my things into boxes and eagerly await for tomorrow, The Move Day! :)

I have the key now ♥ my precioussss~
Must. control. myself. and not go visit the place just yet. :,D I need to concentrate on tomorrow’s exam in Czech (which is really freaking me out now).

That little studio by the lake in Härmälä is now mine! n__n I went and signed the papers today, it’s officially mine from tomorrow and forward.
I feel like starting to pack my things already but I can’t, I must wait ‘til Friday so that I won’t have any more school work to deal with.

I also bought my bed today! We’ll pick it up on Saturday, when my mum and her boyfriend come to help me move with a big van.
I’m getting a kitchen table from my mum, I also have a tv ready and a vhs player. There are so many things I still need to buy, I really need to start writing things down. Bookshelf, a digibox for cable network, microwave oven, a nice carpet, more pillows, a vacuum cleaner etc. I can’t afford to buy all these straight away, but I’ll collect them over time.

I’ll pay my rent and deposit tomorrow
and when I go to the office to show the receipt, I will get my key! :] I think I will pay my studio a visit before Saturday, I don’t think I’ll be able to stay away!
