Driving a Porsche is a completely different experience from any other vehicle you may have driven in the past. The handling, power, seating position, controls, etc…are as perfect as I have found. I highly recommend driving/owning one if given the opportunity.
How to drive a porsche
How I did it: I had a dream going back some 40 years when driving the original Porsche 911. After years with family and "practical" vehicles, I made a decision to make a change, however my need for transport now is my body and some bags with food, et cetera.
Visited a Porsche Dealership for a testdrive of the brand new concept, the Cayman S, with the engine in front of the rear axle which gives the car a close to a perfect weight distribution between for and aft of the vehicle.
Three hours test drive outside the city on winding roads convinced me. This is THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE in a price range possible for me. Next move must be a Ferrari 430 with a price tag doubble the Porsche Cayman S.
Then it was easy? Sold my stocks (I was extremely lucky, however the stock market broke down), made a phone call to the Dealer and ordered a new Cayman S + accessories required.
It was a long awaiting for the delivery. Normal time is 4 > 5 months. However, worth it!
Lessons & tips: A brief information and a test drive.
Resources: Window shoping at a Porsche Dealership, Internet and Magasines and, not to forget friends with a similar vehicle.

A great experience!! My favorite was a ‘69. It had no seatbelts, was a targa. Took it out on a cold winter morning and absolutely loved the experience. As if I was piloting some kind of WWII airplane!
I don’t want to do it on a track at break neck speed, I just want to do it through normal driving. I want to see what difference it makes to how people treat me in a car like that, and also to see if I drive differently too!
I suppose I would also like to actually drive it in Germany on the ‘speedlimitless’ zones of the Autobahns!
Ever since my dad owned Porsches when I was a kid I’ve been hooked. He died before I could drive one of his, but now my father-in-law has a Boxter that I’ve borrowed a few times. They are the sweetest sportscars, ever.
