This has happened a few times. The most prominent one (mostly because of the level of embarassment) was when a friend of mine stole my shoes, and I ran across the street to get them back. Anyways, I clearly didn’t look first and I got hit by a car. I stood up and dusted myself off, ran to my friend and snatched my shoes back and ran into the house, totally ignoring the person who’d hit me and was inquiring as to whether or not I was okay, and if I needed help.
it sucked :(

952 Is tired, and content.
If you leave your feet on the ground it could break your legs or push you under the car. Rule number one… get off the ground. I broke the guys windshield, and jumped off when he slowed down to turn out of the driveway. Rule number two… NEVER get in front of a car ;)
When i was in my last year of primary school i decided to run out into a busy main road without looking both ways. (i must have thought that looking one way was enough). Unfortunatly a car travelling at 50mph was coming from that direction which i had ignored. I hit the bonnet of the car, then the windscreen then bounced back down doing a weird flip and smacking my chin on the road before sliding 20 feet along the gravel. I remember the very first words i spoke after it were “wheres my shoe?” (it had dissapeared somewhere.) Luckily all i did was break my hip, and get a lot of cuts and bruises. It could have been much worse. The car was a brand new BMW that the lady was driving home after just buying it. i totalled it. (to be fair i was quite proud of that part.) getting hit by a car is definately somthing that everyone should try to avoid. remember, look both ways and always use a crossing if one is available….a couple of months after this i was made junior road saftey monitor at my school!! a very bad time in my life and one i hope wont be repeated.
i was at safeway and a car reversed into me at like 20 m.p.h. and i got hurt i fractured my left growing disk. the part that sucked the most was having to explain the story like 20 times. and going to the doctor so mucho
So I’m biking down the sidewalk on the biggest road in my town. I cross a street when the traffic light turned green, and the woman waiting for it to change started moving. Unfortunately, I was in front of her at the time. I saw her coming, but there wasn’t too much I could do about it. She was stopped a little way back from the light, and she accelerated at quite a clip.
Wham!
Suddenly, I’m on my back 15 feet away with my bike on top of me. I flew a few feet and then skidded the rest. My bike held my knee down on the pavement the whole way…think about grating parmesan cheese for a spaghetti dinner and you’ll get a rough image of what I’m talking about here.
Other than a few scrapes, two sprained knees, two sprained ankles, one sprained wrist, and huge bruises across my stomach and thighs where my bike landed on me, I was perfectly alright…but damn, it hurt. I was in physical therapy for my knee (the cheese grater knee) for a few months afterward, and it still hurts when it gets cold or rainy.
The short end of a long story is that you probably shouldn’t get hit by a car.
I was lucky to be alive after that. I was crossing the street and a car turned after I crossed, failing to yield the right-of-way to a car going 40 mph. The cars crashed, skidded, and hit me who was standing at the side of the road. It’s been over a year (June 23, 2005) and my back still has problems from it.
