My cheers leaked again. 5 years ago

Overnight I lost maybe a dozen cheers given. 6 years ago

I immediately opened new tabs in Firefox to select people to cheer and cheered two different entries. Or should I say, I tried to. I got the dreaded “sorry, you have used your quota of cheers for now.” How did I go from 3 to 0 in less than a minute? 6 years ago

I don’t like the new limit of 10 pages/1 week of entries and comments per person. It’s fine for people who give me one or two cheers and make that many entries that day, but for those of us who exchange multiple cheers a day it’s getting increasingly difficult to find things to cheer once I’ve exhausted everything in the recent history. One positive of it though is that it’s made me make more of an effort to post things for other people to cheer on a regular basis. I just feel guilty when I can’t find things to cheer for Des, Starglows, BananaPancakes, Lob, LiamVictor, and some of the others. When I do find things to cheer after the hunt, it does feel so much more satisfying than the easy cheers though. :) 6 years ago

Cheering is broken this morning. I’ve done a bunch of troubleshooting on the problem and sent it off to the Robots to see if they can figure it out. I don’t know if the Robots are like me though and actually check their work during the weekend, so this weekend may be very un-cheerful for a lot of us. 6 years ago

I opened tabs in my browser to return some cheers, but by the time I got the tabs opened and found entries/comments to cheer, all three cheers had vanished. Truly annoying. 6 years ago

So last night I was on the home stretch to giving 20000 cheers. I was just 5 away and refreshed and had been given 1 cheer. I gave it out and then refreshed my cheer page and it said 19995. No! I just gave a cheer so it should’ve read 19996. I refreshed again and still the same thing. Someone deleted an entry I had cheered in that one moment, keeping me back at 19995.

Today I checked after work to see if I had cheers before going out for the night and my cheer stat read 19994. It’s like the cheer goblin is plotting against me to keep me from joining Cathibeth and Des in the 20,000 cheer club.

Fortunately I had 10 cheers at that moment and was able to give them out, but will I drop back below 20,000 again? And if I do, do I have to give that cheer to Cathibeth again? 6 years ago

I hate to say, that it is all an evil cunning plot by the robots, plus they need to reabsorb the cheerage to make themselves more powerful.

The last few days I have only been able to check my account in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening. My cheers are definitely expiring before I can return them all, much less get those five daily base cheers. I’m only a handful down right now in terms of returning, but I should be more than ahead with the base cheers, if cheers didn’t expire so fast. :-P

C’mon, Robots, do you really intend to punish people who don’t check the site every two or three hours? 6 years ago

I think most people who have or had this goal were mostly concerned about their historical numbers changing. I’m not as obsessed with overall numbers as I used to be, but I just hate it that my cheers on hand seem to disappear. I prefer to return cheers, and ideally have a few left over to cheer new people, but when my cheers disappear, that’s just not possible. So I have the option of checking my cheers every five minutes so cheers don’t expire before I can get back to them, or if I try to check this site only one a day, know I’ll never even be able to reciprocate cheers. Please Robots, let me have a life outside this site while allowing me to return cheers. 6 years ago

Okay so sometime in the last eight hours I went from:

Total cheers given: 17945
Total cheers received: 17487

To:

Total cheers given: 17797
Total cheers received: 17471

So someone who cheered me 16 times and who I cheered 148 times has deleted their account and all their entries. Why do my cheer stats have to drop just because someone leaves? It’s not like the cheer never happened. It did.

I mean I can’t go back in time and use that cheer for someone else. I can’t go back in time and undo the mistake I made two days ago. I can’t go back in time and change anything, so why does it happen here? 6 years ago

I suspect it’s someone deleting their old entries/comments (as opposed to deleting their entire account). That makes me sad, since I usually enjoy going back and reading the old stuff! (Except when it’s dwlt flirting like a hussy with the other females on 43T.) :-P 7 years ago

I refreshed my cheers count before I left for work today, and now 12 plus hours later I did not lose any cheers received (and gained the exact amount that I was given in those 12 hours), but I did lose 2 cheers given.

I really feel for Cathibeth who has lost hundreds. She’s really put her all into cheering, and I hope the Robots can give some answer as to what is happening to her cheers. 7 years ago

now the cheers, one by one, aren’t really anything I suppose. However, it is something I’ve worked very diligently at, and somedays in the past, just about the only thing that made me smile (although I’ve come through that chapter of my life) pretty okay.

Seriously though, what is up with the high reduction in cheers. I thought something was fishy a week ago… then I got proof. What’s going on?
