I totally did this. I was really worried that I wasn’t going to be able to do it. I tried to think about what would be the best and most likely to work for this event. I actually came up with 2 that completely worked.
Prank 1: I called Cassie Pack and left her a message that the Sex Machine message got us into trouble with Pastor. I said that some teachers had called about our promotional cards and complained to our pastor and now we could no longer use them at the college. She called me back concerned… and i totally played it out, Cassie (although a very smart girl, was overcome by anger and sadness) she totally bought the prank! EVEN BETTER. Nicole and Kate were with her. So i told her to tell them the same thing. I waited about 3 minutes and then texted them April Fools! They hate me, but admit it was pretty good.
Prank 2: While working at the shop on an engine I dropped what I was doing and walked very quickly to the bathroom holding my hand. As I walked past my dad I said, “I cut my hand pretty bad” In the bathroom I began to run the water and heard my dad talking to my grandma and Bert about me getting hurt. I came out holding my hand and said, “I think I might need stitches” Everyone was kindof worried now. I walked past Bert and my Grandma asked to see it. As I let go of my hand and turned my palm up, my grandma read “April Fools!” written on my hand in red sharpie! Hah!
That is two April fools pranks in one day. I didn’t just accomplish this goal, I destroyed it.

I definitely want to pull a really good April Fools prank. Now I just have to pick my victim and my action. Watch your back!

I’m not really giving this up, but it’s just not a very important ‘thing’. I added this one back on my first day of 43T, before I knew that I would actually use this clever little site as a real (yet fun) ‘tool’ in my life. So, sure, one day I’ll probably get around to doing this, but I don’t care enough for it to make my top 43 Things :+)

April fool’s is my high holy holiday – so seeing as to how I regularly do late-night “installations” in my house for my family to find in the morning… April fool’s needs to be special. Unfortunately, this year I was a few thousand miles away from my family on April 1, but last year was awesome.
Starting with the upstairs, I recreated Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s “Gates” in the hallway using streamers. I transformed the stairs into a slip-n-slide. Downstairs, I switched the furniture of the den, dining room, and kitchen. In the kitchen, I filled the fruit bowl with jolly ranchers, and put the fruit in the 3 candy/cookie jars – switched the silverware drawer with the saran wrap/aluminum foil/bag drawer – switched drinks and containers in the fridge, etc. The den was given a little “fiesta” vibe, and I decorated the toilet of the bathroom my dad uses to look like a throne. Oh, and I put tampons in all of the closed compartments in my dad’s car.
My dad was the first to wake up and discover my “presents” (5 AM). He took a video.

lob The play is today!!!
We even got the neighbor boy to pull 2 pranks on his grandmother. Lots of laughter here today! My husband is scared to eat or drink anything… He stared at his tea while my son asked him if he was sure that was really sugar he’d put in the cup. And we bought “dog biscuits” for the cookie jar. Though my husband is now standing around whenever he thinks we’re planning, so he can try to overhear what we’re saying.

lob The play is today!!!
My 14-year old son and I played a prank on my husband, pretending that his friend from Sweden was on the phone and had just arrived in town. It was actually my son calling from his cell phone in another part of the house.
Now to think of more. Though I imagine most of today’s pranks will be played on my husband.

At a previous place of employment, I printed off about 20 pages that said in very big bold print, “Print Error! Please clear any paper jams and try your print job again.”
Then I randomly slipped these 20 pages throughout a clean reem of paper, already loaded in the printer.
Throughout the day, I giggled every time someone saw a “print error”
Our helpdesk got 3 calls, and never did figure out what was causing the error!

I really did any awesome one! I told my girlfriend of like 6 months at the time that I met this girl and I was going to call her back later. I should have played it out a little more, but she was like stunned! Haha. She started to get unhappy fast and then I had a really good laugh.

I have very long hair, and many of my friends are against my cutting it. So, for one April Fools Eve, I emailed everyone that I had cut my hair right below my ears. When I saw several friends the next day, one of them tried to kill me. Just a little.
And a year or two ago, some friends and I made t-shirts with a picture of another friend from when he was 14. It was fun. he chased his brother (who smokes) because he thought said brother gave us the picture. The poor brother was wheezing and gasping for breath.
One prank I have always wanted to pull is to remove the ink from all pens in the vicinity. Don’t ask why, it’s just a dream of mine.
