They’ll be consolidated in 10 days. Woot!

Direct Loans received my application. Now I just have to send my ICR form and tax release. Then if they approve it, THEN I can apply for IBR.

Sent. I’ll find out in about a week.

Then it’s on to apply for IBR.

Maybe someday I’ll be left an inheritance and all of this won’t matter anymore.

    Oh, hell. 3 weeks ago

I completed exit counseling, and go into repayment on 11/28. I had an uplifting conversation with ‘Rell, who reminded me that I took out the loans because I needed them, not to be frivolous… It’s just a pain in the ass to see it all add up. But you know? I’m calling tomorrow to speak to an agent about consolidating my direct and Sallie Mae loans, and then applying for IBR. Even if I can only afford $100, fine. So be it. Whatever. My education is worth it, even if it’s painful right now.

hollymoose78 going away this weekend... what can I accomplish on the road??

    woohoo! 2 years ago

My payments which start in August are slightly less than 1/3 of what I was paying—thus allowing me to pay off my credit card debt sooner! :)

a HUGE step in the right direction 2 years ago

After many attempts, and some frustration on my part… I eventually got the online form to go through successfully this time. I e-signed it, and now I sit back and wait… my only concern now is that after deliberating I chose the graduated payments option… now I’m wondering if I should have just chosed standard payments? Oh well, we could use more money now, and as we pay off other debts, we’ll be better equipped to pay more in the future, eh? :) I won’t count this as completed until I hear that it went through successfully! I’m told it could take as long as 8 weeks for processing.

    Grr!! 2 years ago

I started the application online, saved it, and then returned to it today in the hopes of finishing. I gathered what little information I had left to gather and just went back to enter the last three things, and it somehow wiped out everything I filled in prior!!!! Grr!!! Oh well, I won’t let it stop me. I am going to send it in before lunch time, baby!

    Too many private loans. :(

    Done...almost. 2 years ago

I just completed all of the forms online. I’m hoping all the information I gave was correct. If so, I will soon be scratching this off my list.
