start knitting again

When I was knitting, I didn’t get any more complicated than knitting a scarf, but it was very relaxing, and I did my best thinking then. I want to take it back up, and learn more complicated stuff.

I’ve been knitting again! I have almost finished a sweater for my son – bought the wool a couple years ago, but still have enough for his size. Am doing an upside-down project because I just dread seams!

for lessons at a cool knitting place. should use it! but it’s so far north… i should look into how long it will take me to get there, and start scheduling it.

The title of the goal is “to START knitting again”, and I have indeed STARTED knitting again. I think the problem with my knitting was actually in FINISHING whatever I was knitting. I am in the middle of making a pair of green-and-grey socks for my lover. I hope it lasts (the knitting, that is).

and end up crocheting a hat? I was always a horrible crocheter – for some reason I was too deliberate or my tension was wrong… I picked up a crochet hook to show my kids the difference between knit & crochet and all of my former bad form was gone! It all came back to me in a flash and this time I was able to make the needle fly! Hmmmm.

My Nanna originally taught me when I was 7 and I’ve been meaning to take it up again for a while now. My mate Louisa knitted me a scarf for Christmas (one just gone) and I’ve been craving to knit again! So first thing on the to do list is to get Nanna to show me how to cast on and off again!
