I had some free time, and the option of surfing my forums mindlessly or knitting.
So I found my lilac yarn and my old size 10 needles, and made half an iPod cozy. I’ll try to find the time to finish it tomorrow, and pick a button for the closure. I have some nice silver hearts I can use.

How I did it: I had experience knitting (and crocheting) with my grandmother when I was very young (about fifteen to twenty years ago). I was doing incredibly basic things like small scarves or doll clothes and watching her make beautiful pieces. I love drawing in pen and ink and handbuilding pottery, but neither of these quite work on a regular basis in a house with a preschooler and four cats. I very rarely have a solid block of tim… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went out and bought some new needles and some nice soft yarn and whipped up a scarf and a toque. Now I'm working on some new socks for myself in a pattern I've never tried before. I can't believe I ever put this hobby down! Read how I did it…

Knitting again :)
Like most of my hobbies, I pick up something, get too busy, and drop it. Knitting’s one of these hobbies. I aim to make a small iPod cozy or something equally easy, to start with. I already have the needles and my favorite yarn. I now just have to look up tutorials for starting and whatnot.
Karen Today is a good day.
I have seen a lot of things in reference to knitting around here on 43T, and it makes me want to take up the hobby again. I used to knit years ago, fairly simply, but I love the craft, relaxation factor, and creating something. And I am in a perfect place to take it back up again, since I am living with my mom for a bit, and she is the expert knitter. And, has a disgustingly large amount of yarn at my disposal. I really enjoyed doing it, learning how to do different more advance things, and simply creating something out of nothing. Oooh, and I have a blanket, that I actually created the pattern for, that I was knitting for my grandmother… (I thought it was funny that I was knitting her something, instead of the other way around.) It’s about four feet long, and almost finished. Maybe that will get me in the knitting spirit again, to finish that.
platypusdoom has regressed.
When I was knitting, I didn’t get any more complicated than knitting a scarf, but it was very relaxing, and I did my best thinking then. I want to take it back up, and learn more complicated stuff.
knitting a cardigan. It looks quite nice. I hope I can keep going … usually I start something and then unpick it after a while …
I’ve been knitting again! I have almost finished a sweater for my son – bought the wool a couple years ago, but still have enough for his size. Am doing an upside-down project because I just dread seams!
purplefibermom feels hung-over even though I didn't drink anything last night
perhaps a larger project next time – I found a really cute bag pattern
wembleyheads is all sorts of googly-eyed :D
