take an Amateur Radio Emergency Communications course

You know that last entry wherein I wondered whether it’s a great idea to register for an 8-week course during which I’m taking a 2-week vacation and concentrating on learning Python in preparation for a programming contest?

Turns out it’s not a great idea. I registered anyway but then slacked off, completing just two of the ~24 units. So now I’ve registered for a second term, and I’m determined to try harder this time.

So it turned out that you do need to be an ARRL member to register for the class (the web site provides contradictory information on this point). So I joined and I’ve got a member number. Now to actually register.

Registration slots seem to fill up really fast. I’m going to try registering the minute it opens next month.
