This is STILL a no-go, my vision is STILL changing (I’m in my 30’s, so I’m told this is unusual!), and I’d STILL be a bad candidate for corrective vision surgery.

Man, this has been a goal of mine for 12 years… maybe I should actually do it this year! 4 months ago
Just after my surgery my eyes were blurry and in the first week I experienced constant blurriness and even a little double vision. Luckily I had a friend to encourage me and many who were there for me to help me cope with not being able to see clearly.
I am now very happy with the outcome. I can see as well as I could with my glasses but now I don’t need to worry about them.
Next thing to do is get a better pair of sunglasses because the ones I have now are about 6 years old :) 7 months ago
They told me it would take 6 weeks to be fully recovered, MAX. It’s been six months now and my eyes are still uncomfortable, dry, and a general annoyance – more so than glasses ever were. 9 months ago
It was the best financial investment of my life. I cannot express the joy of being able to wake up and SEE! 12 months ago
How I did it: Talked to people who had had it done and asked about their experience : how the operation itself went, their own recuperation time, perceived improvement and the clinic they choose.
Then, visited the two main clinics in my city that were recommended, and made a choice based on the technology used and overall impression of the clinic.
This is how I it went for me. Of course, these will change depending on your own doctor's indications and your personal reaction to the operation;
-Evaluation appointment with a clinic (about 2 hours) : you meet with many different professionals including an optometrist who will determine whether you are eligible for the operation.
-Actual operation : preparation with a technician (eye drops, cleaning etc. -- 20 min. in my case) + operation (15 min. only)
-Post-operation (these will vary depending on the technology used and of course, your own eyes' reaction towards the operation) :
4 hours of recuperating with protective shells, must close your eyes but blink every 5 min. to keep hydrated (best is to listen to the radio and blink at every song).
2 hours immediately after : no actual pain, fair irritation and teary eyes resulting
4 hours after : only 50 % of discomfort remaining
12 hours after : 10 % remaining
Following days :
a slightly blurry vision and some diminishing halo effects (I don't know if mine will disappear).
some drops to apply + sleeping with protective shells Read how I did it… 3 years ago
