How I did it: I highly suggest finding an exam prep course offered either through SHRM or a local college. The prep course coupled with many hours of studying and being calm and confident is how I did it!

How I did it: I took the PHR prep course (sponsored by SHRM) that was offered at the local college. The six modules came with a CD of questions and case studies. I answered every question at the end of each chapter in the modules, every question on the disk, and all the questions my instructor came up with on her own for our class. Then I forked over an additional $70 (what's another $70 at this point?) and took the two online assessment exams off… Read how I did it…

I took the test on Thursday and I PASSED!!
The final results will arrive by mail in 3-5 weeks, but shortly after I submitted the final test answers I recieved a pass/fail notification. Mine said “CONGRATULATIONS!”

I took my exam on Dec 8, 2008 and passed!! I scored 556/700 and am so unbelievably proud. I received my certificate and have it proudly displayed on my desk at work. It was all worth the studying, classes, money, and severely limited social life.

Two Weeks and Counting

Uck. I have been studying like mad, but am still freaking. I know of 20+ people who have taken the exam in the Dec/Jan window so far and only 2 have passed.
All this money/time/blood/sweat/tears better not be for nothing.
Jan. 22nd is the big day. At high noon. Ooo-eee-ooo-eee-ooooooo, wahwahwah.

I am registered to take the exam in December. Next step is to get confirmation of the prep course being offered through my job. Then pay my brother back the $1300 I borrowed to pay for it.
