I filled out my application to become an ordained minister today. Once I am approved, I am all set to officiate a wedding! woo-hoo! now I just need to find some people to marry!
Haha this is more of a random thing because I’m bored than a goal, but I think it would be fun and memorable.
I have a religion degree. I was kind of thinking about getting the masters in divinity someday or working in a church but I end up traveling and getting odd jobs. I’m not ordained and I am blown away that my brother wants me to officiate his wedding. I want to be professional and “good” so I’m looking for “officiating weddings for dummies” or something like that. Any ideas? I have until the end of May to practice.
Two very close friends of mine want me to marry them… I’m honored, but very nervious. I don’t know what to do! Ugh… I looked at the laws and it looks like in AZ I just need to be ordained. I submitted a request at http://www.ulc.net/">the ULC site. So, I guess I’m good to go. I know I need to get a marrage certificate, but I don’t know where to get it or turn it in… Yeesh.
My roommate’s not my roommate anymore, and it doesn’t look like I’ll be in town for the wedding. I’m still registered, so maybe I’ll get a chance to do this later, but for now; focusing on more important stuff.
...with the intention of officiating a marriage between my roommate and his girlfriend at the time. That didn’t last; she was out of his league. :) Now I’m officiating a marriage between that same guy and someone who matches him more closely. In September, I’ll be signing the right papers, saying the right words, and generally helping to bring the “fun” chapter of my buddy’s life to an end. It’s gonna be beautiful.
I became an interfaith minister on the strength of a friend’s wish to have me officiate her wedding. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Weddings are beautiful events, it’s always an honor to take part, whether in an elaborate pre-planned ceremony or a spontaneous afternoon in a park.
