How to get certified to teach yoga
How I did it: I knew I needed to do a yoga teacher training course when I realized how much joy it brought me not only to do yoga, but to get others hooked on it as well. I almost dropped out of college to pursue yoga, but I couldn't find a program that REALLY worked for me and I was REALLY ready to commit to. I started teaching at my college gym and I was so comfortable with it that I decided that as soon as I graduated I would sign up for a course. . . and that is exactly what I did and it was worth every penny and every minute.

I have been searching from place to place. The greatest obstacle is cash. How do I find the right place to take my practice to the next level?
I am reading Instructing Hatha Yoga right now. I need to set my test date so that I can finish my certification.
Met this girl the past weekend who is a yoga instructor at Shapes and the Y. So I asked her-Did you go through Yoga Alliance?? No-she went through AFAA and it didn’t take that long. Well, I already have a cert through FitTour…just didn’t think that it was good for anything. But, she’s gonna help me get on the sub lists at the place where she works! Yay!
I am interested in getting certified to teach yoga through yoga alliance. For the past year, I have been teaching a body flow class (vinyasa flow yoga, tai chi, and pilates) but that class has it’s own separate certification. Any suggestions? Where should I start?

Yup, I went to teacher training, read all the books, got in everything I needed to and now I’m certified!!
I’m so happy. This is something that I can use for the rest of my life to help me in so many ways.
I’m proud of myself and grateful for the opportunity!!

AH! I’m going to Houston in July for the teacher training and certification!!!! I’m oh so excited. At the beginning of the summer I was hoping on going to Baptiste somewhere in New York, but I was wait listed – he had room for only 100 ppl. 100!! The one I’m going to has a limit of 15, thank god. This is going to be a great experience.
For the Longest time I have wanted to teach yoga. I actually have a well written essay awaiting it’s depature from my computer to an envelope, with a check by its side, and the application to keep cozy on the way to the studio that I will train at. Weewh that was long. Seriously though, I need to do accomplish this goal. I am taking it all instride a prticing more frequently than I was ble to afford before, but now that I have the credit card debt squared away I think I may be able to being saving up for this large endeavor.
When I am done I plab to use my newly certified trade as a travel tool. Today is the beginning of my journey outward. Who’s coming with me?
