I wear makeup most days. And earrings maybe 3 days a week. Getting there!

Ok, so in my profession, I wear scrubs, so it’s not up there in priorities really for work. HOWEVER, I have discovered that the PERFECT place to do this is to go shopping. Don’t just go shopping- GO SHOPPING!
I did this the other day, decked out in skinny jeans, tall scrunchy heel boots, a chic top w/sweater, and did my hair. I stopped at the Clarins counter at Macy’s and had my best friends (who is counter mgr there & a cosmetologist) give me a smoky eye and WENT SHOPPING!
It was fun, and so much better than shopping in my usual scrubs w/no makeup or in my regular boring clothes. It also allowed me to splurge on myself, without feeling guilty about it. I have a lot of trouble spending money on myself, instead of the household or my kids, so that was nice.
So baby steps for this as well. I’ll start with buying clothes that FIT- instead of clothes I WISH would fit! LOL.
This goal is a lot easier to keep up with now that I’m back in school—working toward finishing my degree. I have to make that extra effort to be presentable.
I wouldn’t go anywhere without my makeup until I met my husband when we were 18. He didn’t like makeup much, so I stopped wearing it and pretty much abandoned it all together. I would like to start wearing it again (but not to the extent I used to) again. I’m already a compulsive earring wearer, so no help needed there. =p
...if you use it to help bolster your confidence. Sometimes, when I’m feeling especially “blah”, taking a little bit of extra time to dress up and work on my appearance before leaving the house makes a HUGE difference in how I feel for the day.
I often leave the house without makeup and with my hair simply pulled back in a clip (and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, either), but some days it’s just really nice to look put together.
Agent77 cleaning up my list
Well saturday wehn i went down to statesboro I dressed up. I wore my pink halter dress. some pink sandals. and my baby phat jewelry. I think that it ’s good to dress up every now and then especially when you’ve got depression coz it makes you feel better about yourself.
Audrey has been in her pjs all day, and has no guilt about it.
Im very into the whole “retro 40s/50s” thing, and as a rule those ladies always “looked smart”. Ive tried to adopt that motto, and geeeeeze, as a person who loves sleep it can be hard to get up in the morning and spend the hour and 15 minutes to get ready (yeah, i am easily distracted so i have to give myself TONS of time, hehehe) but its well worth it when you know youre looking good, even if its just in your eyes. A serious confidence booster. And the compliments arent too shabby either. :)
We were stuck in a traffic jam so I applied full eye makeup today and put my favourite lippy on. yay! My eye makeup is looking better these days after buying a triple shadow compact with colours that are actually suitable – one light, pearly and pale shade for all over, one mid brown (no red tone) for the outer half of the eye, and a dark brown for lining.
I use to dress up when I first started the job. As i got to know my functions better. I began to dislike the job and so went my clothing and wanting to wear any makeup. I find it hard to get up and go there in the morning.
It’s time to find another job.
