I want a Murcielago or the new F430. Of course, an Enzo would be best! – Todd Shriber
Somebody who has never been interested in cars that buys a ‘flashy’ car at age 45 is a mid life crisis. Somebody who has always had a passion for cars that finally buys one when they can afford it when they just happen to be middle age is NOT a mid life crisis. There are sports car people and then there are regular people (or those with mid life crisis) who just drive sports cars. I’m a sports car person, always have and always will.
That may be one of the reasons I would think twice about meeting this goal. That along with the fact that some people would not consider it a good financial decision.
Still, I fully intend to have my first Ferrari by age 40 which gives me seven years. At this time it looks like the 355 is the best option, but by then I’m hoping the 360 will be at a similar price point. Assuming I can pay cash for most or all of it, trading it in after four years or so will be an option.
The Ferrari Testarossa is my favorite, but so is the Pininfarina. Here’s a good place I found to shop for one,

The Ferrari F430 is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. I desire it. The lead time between stating the goal and fulfilling it is unlikely to be as short as last time, though ;). At ~$200k its distinctively out of range for probably a good long while.
I owned my first ferrari at 26 and boy was it worth it…now I am 31 and have other expenditures I no longer own one…..but DEFINATELY will own another one!!!!
Well I wouldn’t mind a 575 or the new 599, but a 1965 Serenissima Jet Competitizone would really turn heads. Being realistic one of the 250’s would be nice.
I’ve driven both a Murcielago and a 360 Modena. When I have the means I will definately be buying the Ferrari first. It handles like nothing I’ve driven before.
