How to get into med school
It made me
beat up
 "It was a long arduous process, and it is debatable as to whether or not it was worth it."
How I did it: Did this between the ages of 21 and 23. Just didn't quit and kept showing up every day to my classes, worked as hard as I could, took the tests, paid the fees and went through the admissions process. The essential element was persistence, though one could call it stupidity or hard-headedness. To accomplish this goal one needs to work very hard and not stop when faced by people and things that are in one's way. I got accepted on my first try and I went on to school. Lessons & tips: I would have got my applications in earlier, as in the day they start accepting them. I also would have been more relaxed during my interviews, and said more about myself and less what I thought the interviewers wanted to hear. They can spot phony BS easily. How I did it: I had no idea at the time about the application process, I picked out some universities to do medicine. I had always wanted to do medicine, so I picked all the right subjects for my A-levels. I did maths, further maths, biology, chemistry and physics. I then went and talk to people who been through the process and just ask for all the advice they have to offer. This will be brief, as I am currently in the middle of studying/doing hw, but I realized that this crucial step was missing from my list of goals. Next to “identify 100 things that make me happy”, I’m predicting that this goal will have the most accompanying entries. Something about patience and persistence… oh yeah and that thing called time.

Now, back to studying.
I want to be in med school is because i just got out of school and a guy came in talking about medical things and i thought it was really cool because the guy taught us about things that can get break constant bleeding or things that got stuck inside you like nails or branches.

in nyc. is it so bad to want to go to med school only where your significant other lives?
it is in 4 days. I’m trying to get into medical school, the most disputed one.
I’m not feeling 100% prepared, but I’m so tired that I just want to finish it. It’ll be a relief to finally do it.
in this first exam, I’ll have to do questions about portuguese language and literature, chemistry, physics, biology, world & brazilian history, geopolitics, physiogeography, mathematic and foreign language (english). I’m not too sure about physics and physiogeography.
if I pass the first exam, I’ll have another one in middle december. it’ll be so much easier, cause it’s just biology, chemistry, physics and an essay. I’ll be able to make more effort in physics (in which I suck a lot) and essay training (in which I suck a little).
I’m curious about what’s going to happen.
