How to learn a musical instrument

I Love Music 7 months ago

I began learning to play the Clarinet when I was in 6th grade (11 years old) and I have been playing it for 10 years now :) Its not hard to learn, but I would advise anyone who has the chance to join band in school. Even if you want to play something that isn’t offered the expirence is worth it and you will learn how to read and understand music with your eyes and your ears and your feet even!

piano and guitar 16 months ago

I want to learn the piano and the guitar so that I can play my favorite songs by searching for music sheets on the internet. I have to learn to play How to Save a Life on the piano and the guitar.

Recorder 17 months ago

Gonna start with the recorder. Is this a smart thing to do?

I’m thinking a wind wood instrument would be best.

Guitar or Piano 22 months ago

How hard can it be to learn the guitar? I love listening to old spanish guitar music played by Jose Feliciano or Yomo Toro. The music is so peaceful and deep.

guitar 22 months ago

would love to learn, bought my son one, now i want one.

alright! 2 years ago

we had our second salsa lesson today (dance is my new instrument!) and it was so much fun. having just that little bit of knowledge made it so much easier this time. we were dancing everywhere afterwards, the dog park, the front porch, the kitchen. so much fun!

i like to fudge my goals a little bit. 2 years ago

when i decided to embark upon this goal in january, i had a specific vision in mind. acoustic guitar lessons with the possibility of plastic strings to learn spanish guitar.

i never quite got around to this one. i could never quite justify the weekly expense.

i started thinking about the upcoming wedding. the dress, the party, the music, all the stupid things i was hoping to get out of by eloping but didn’t. i realized we were going to drop thousands of dollars on what is essentially a big dance party and neither of knew how to dance.

long story short, my fiance and i are now signed up for 35 weeks of private dance instruction. we’ll learn a choreographed two step for our slow first dance. our first lesson we started working on salsa, and in the time to come we’ll move on to swing.

i think that this counts under this goal, because while i may not be making music, i’ll be using music. what do you think, people of the internet?
