i am immpressing from your success story so, i want know to what dream behind your success

after being a close follower of him in the 1990 and early 2000s it would be great to talk with him about how things he described or kind of predicted in his two books turned out.

I practically flattened him.

It was at a COMDEX (COMputer DEalers eXposition) in 1988. The big story was Commodore releasing a PC clone, there was a tiny display by Dell who was launching their PC clone…

Oh yeah, and a collaboration between Microsoft and IBM over a little attempt at an operating system dubbed OS/2. And then there was the Apple lawsuit against Microsoft claiming Microsoft looked too much like apple in the graphical user interface arena…

Different world.

Neither one of us were looking where we were going.

I was a geek on a mission.

Him and Balmer were equally on a mission in the other direction.

wham!

Oh well, appologies and intros aside…

We dusted off and went about our seperate ways…

And to think Microsofts biggest threat then was from AT&T and UNIX… LOL

I watched his interview on NBC this week and he was so modest about Windows Vista, he even tolerated Meredith’s little silly comments… He’s such an awesome person. You can tell he has a clear understanding of the industry and he knows was coming and he’s so casual about it all, like “I’m holding all the cards, but I’m not gonna brag.”

Apple ain’t got nothin’ on you, Bill! :D

I got an internship at Microsoft a couple of years back, and all graduate students were invited over to Bills for a barbeque in his garden… He was there, so were his kids and most of MS’ VP’s. It was surrealistic standing on Bill Gates’ pier waving to the tourists who just wanted a glimpse of his house… :)
