My hair is almost completely “virgin” now though – my fringe is all my own colour, and there’s only a tiny amount of dye everywhere else :) I’m enjoying having my natural dark blonde! 7 months ago

After several years of dying my brown hair very dark brown (almost black), I decided I wanted to go back to my natural color eventually. For a year or so, I dyed the roots with semi-permanent dye as they grew out. A few significant trims got the really dark ends off and about a year ago I stopped doing the semi-permanent dye, too. My hair is quite long and the ends are still slightly darker than the roots but after a couple years without permanent dye and natural fading/highlights of the sun, it’s just a subtle difference between the dyed and natural hair. 9 months ago
So my hair seems to be growing about half an inch a month, maybe a tad more. I hear that’s the average, so I’m quite pleased with that. I’ve started taking Sea Kelp vitamins as it’s quite heavily recommended as an aid to helping your hair grow faster. I have used it before but can’t remember how effective or not it was. I’m well aware it might do bugger-all. Wait, that’s a lie. It has made me break out in spots. I’m fairly sure it did the first time I used it. I’ll finish this bottle, and decide then if it’s worth persevering with. 11 months ago
According to the tape measure and the hair I just yanked out of my head, this is the length to which my natural hair has grown out. Not bad, I’m amazed I haven’t crumbled and dyed it yet, but a £20 bet with the boy that I can’t go 6 months without dyeing is helping me resist! 14 months ago
I’ve tried this before, but failed miserably and slapped some bright red dye on about 7 months in. Fool that I am. However since then I’ve had my hair cut really short, which took away a lot of the dyed hair and left my inch-and-a-half long roots more noticeable. I’ve decided to just keep ignoring all the pretty hair dyes in the shops and getting my hair cut until all the bright blonde is gone and I’m left with…well I’m not sure what colour my hair is naturally after dyeing it for 10 years. I think it’s an ashy blonde, if my eyebrows are anything to go by. I’m just curious as to what I’ll look like with my natural colour. Hopefully this won’t take too long… 15 months ago
My hair at the moment is a…well I don’t even know. It’s dark at the roots and a light brown with a coppery tinge near the ends. It’s like the ombre effect hair. I just want it to be a nice dark brown again! I’ve been leaving it to grow out since last July, and I’m starting to stain it with black coffee (I read online this is a natural way of semi permanently staining your hair, as there is no “sun-in” spray for dark hair, only to make your hair blonder unfortunately!). I’m longing for the dark hair and glowing tan look for this summer <3 23 months ago
