Notably, we had Mudhish, a Saudi Arabian student, live with us for three months. It was fascinating to learn more about his language and his Islamic faith. Mish demonstrated kindness and genuine goodness that are not part of the publicized face of Islam in our western media. Interacting with Mish and others has also helped me appreciate my own religious convictions and the things I understand about my relationship with God. I am glad to know that God loves all his children.

I always want to learn more though. I think religions are fascinating, and I have great respect for them even if I don’t believe. I think it’s an important part of understanding other people and other cultures to understand their religion.
