just a ems worker wanting to get some more certifications and this one is something i always wanted to do love the water so i figure why not get my rescue diver certification
Now that I’m living in an area where I can dive whenever I want to, I’m not going to wait 14 years to progress to the next level. I’d love to make a living diving someday, so I’m going to keep progressing as aggressively as I can. My goal right now is to get as many dives as I can under my belt, and complete Rescue Diver by May 2008.
Got my Rescue Diver in … um 1986 i think it was. Wow …
Back then i was at school and working in a dive shop in the weekends.
Diving was great fun. But the last time i went diving was 10 years ago, in Hawaii. I really should do it again sometime.
I learned more getting my Rescue than any other certification short of a professional designation (Divemaster and Instructor were even more enlightening).
The most important thing about getting an advanced certification like this is not just that you can be a better buddy and dive party participant, but you learn to be a better diver, and are better able to respond to situations you, yourself, may face! If there was one thing that I took away from my Rescue course it was
STOP! Think. Act.
Do it. Tough training, but well worth it.
But first I just need to get back in the water and have a little refresher…then I can think about the rescue diver course.
