participate in a dragon boat race

It was so so much fun! And best of all is that we came in first in our 2nd race! I would absolutely do this again next year. love it!!

I am in the race on June 21. Got two sessions of practice and then we’e in. So excited

YAY, i am sugned up with the office team. Thought I would miss it coz it clashes with my Vancouver trip, but now that dates were all changed around. It works for me. June 22nd.

Last Saturday was our day! We finally raced during the Dragonboat-Races in the Duesseldorf media harbour. As we were absolute beginners our final place somewhere in the middle was quite fine for us. We reached our goal “not to be the last”... ;-)

I will take part in the annual dragon-boat race in the Duesseldorf media harbour. I’m very excited about this chance and hope that we will be the winning team (or at least not the last one)... ;-)

The Dragonboat Race Festival was this past Saturday. Our team bagged the Division B Bronze!! WAHOO!!

I was there 8:30 am through 4 pm. A little tanned but luckily not burnt. It started off a little chaotic, almost freaked out when time was ticking away and folks were only just still trickling in. But we did manage to get the whole team in and on the boat and started out with a very messy first run. Unfortunately, it was also the first heat that determined what Division you competed in. We landed in Div B.

However for the remaining two heats, we actually shaved 11 seconds off our original time and managed to get into a somewhat decent synchronicity, and somehow managed to get into 3rd place at the end ;) Other teams were slowing down with each heat but we were speeding up.

It was the first time ever this has been held here, so we have to cut the organizers some slack. It was madness in pockets here and there, and I can see some parts where some improvements can be made.. but overall, it was a ton of fun! Now I have a bronze medal hanging in my cube :) glee
