Rephrase: “The Best Pill Taker in the world” 3 years ago

They say it takes 21 days to create a habit… it so seems that I have conquered the impossible. I have broken the title I have held for so long as ‘the worst pill taker in the world,’ and succeeded my own clouded expectations.

The capacity of the human mind to set into motion goals and ambitions is one of the most powerful assets we have and yet it is one that is so often under-utilised. I have haphazardly approached the goal of pill taking from so many angles, yet none succeeded simply because I didn’t believe in my own goal. Taking any form of medicine became one of those monetary tasks which looms on the horizon of our minds like the homework set by our high school mathematics teacher. The philosophy of the task is drummed into us by the world at large, by our parents, teachers and peers yet until we receive our own revelation of its importance – we will continue to treat it with indifference and complete disregard.

With health poised as a threat on my general wellbeing – that revelation has been reached, and the energy which for so long I have fought against, has now transferred itself into a positive advocating action to take all medication and dietary supplements. For the past three weeks I have without fail taken a combination of zinc, folic acids, enzymes and iron and now consider the discipline to be so deeply ingrained in my psyche that I would feel some measure of guilt if I did not take my daily requirements.

A dose of my own medicine 3 years ago

I have been diagnosed with extremely low iron levels and instructed therefore to increase my dosage of iron medicine to twice a day for the next few weeks. The probiotics however, are not conducive to my allergies as they contain several grain derivatives; therefore… they’re off the list.

I have been affectionately referred to in recent times as “the worst pill taker in the world.” I rebel against any prescribed cures, basking under the illusion that ‘I am in control, not some little tablet.’ The only problem with this profound philosophy is that there is a ceiling to my power of ‘control’ and I am now beyond that. I have a bottle of iron medicine at work and another at home, so I really have no excuse why I cannot be disciplined to take it on a daily basis.

    New Discipline 3 years ago

Routines always seem to fall short to some unpredicted circumstances that comes up in our lives. For me, mornings are the obstruction as I invariably sleep in and then haven’t the time to take my vitamins.

I bought a new bottle of probiotics on the weekend and another refresher of Iron, now I have only to master a new routine which will work consistently on a daily basis. I have brought the two bottles to work and hope to make a discipline of taking them mid-morning before lunch.

Routine, Routine, Routine 3 years ago

I’m great at establishing but terrible at ‘maintaining’ routine jobs on a daily basis for invariably, something distracts my routine and if only for a day – my whole world gets thrown off its axis.

I need to make a priority of taking enliven probiotics and iron tablets on a daily basis as a preventative to health deterioration. I also need to investigate the option of a calcium substitute as I am still being affected to some extent by dairy products.
