Become a massage therapist.

I FINALLY got my massage table and bolster yesterday! I have about ten bookings so far for free massages, and I’m hoping to do anywhere from 2-5 per week outside of school until I graduate next March.

The great thing about UCMT is that they exceed the hourly experience requirement by I think 400 hours-how great will it be to have an ADDITIONAL 400 hours of practice on top of that to put on my resume?

I’m stoked.

Very rewarding career choice. Can be lucrative, but it gives a great sense of pride knowing that you have helped someone to feel better!

Now only about three months to graduation, if I get all the classes I need this semester. It’s been rough while working full time. (and going into debt,) but it’s almost done!

I went to my first anatomy lab yesterday!

I’ve always been told that I have very strong hands and that I should become a massage therapist. I was planning on going to the Swedish School of Massage after high school, but my mother was very against it. Now that I’m older I wan to take some classes and see where it takes me.

I learned some basic Petrissage techniques on Thursday and need to practice, arg. Apparently my body mechanics are good, but I’m not using enough pressure.

Half-way to being CPR/First Aid certified, and anatomy is TERRIFYING!!!

I started UCMT on March 17th, only 11 months to go!

I decided I don’t want this right now. I didn’t give up, just chose to make room for different things :)

I’m 3 semesters along the way to becoming a massage therapist. Once taking the first step to get started it’s easier to keep going. (Like with so many things)

Now I just need to save up money for tuition
