I’ve always wanted to do this…
I find it very intriguing of the underworld we have. The unique creatures and every thing happening beneath the water. Life.. Life on land is something I’m familiar with but it’s so mysterious down there and after snorkling with sharks once and seeing the colorful tropical fishes it just amazes me. I kind of fear the deep dark sea but would love to get into a closer encounter with all the lives under there.
newvanessa hasn't been here in a long time
Did a mini class in Dominican. Was good, but the snorkeling in the Caymans is better than the diving there…
I was certified on Zanzibar island in the Indian Ocean and it was fantastic. The course went well and I was able to dive in the ocean four times during the course (two days of open water diving; two dives per day) and then I went to the best spot on the island for diving and did two dives there after I was certified. If you get certified, definitely go on at least one dive after that. During the course you have to practice skills in the ocean so you can’t enjoy the full dive as much. When you are certified all you do is enjoy yourself! I saw a sea turtle up close resting on coral, one swimming in the distance, billions of colorful tropical fish, a pufferfish, parrotfish, triggarfish, a lobster, two octopi, a sting ray, and we saw dolphins from the boat. Amazing day! Now I can go diving anywhere in the world…
Have clocked up 26 dives so far this season. Already certified as a Trainee Diver and only four more dives to go before I can sit the Club Diver Exam.
Bought all my own gear recently and am having the time of my life. Totally addicted now.

so we did it. 2 days in a row. and i did have to fight the air in the vest 1st day to somehow get down. and the 2nd day i did crawl the mud a little while till i got organized.
but it did feel absolutely great! you’re down in the water and you know there is as much water above you as probably a 3 storey building. and you see fish. old trees. weeds. i seen a bottle of shampers in the bottom and it looks 2 times the size of it. you reach out to touch things and they turn out further than it seems.
great way to spend time!
2 more times left to do to get the cert:)
