I can safely cross this off my list now. I’m taking all of my notes in my Moleskine(s) and my collection has grown. While I first only had one pocket Moleskine and was slowly figuring it out, now I have more. Now I have one personal one for more individualized notes (the original Moleskine that I bought) and I take it with me just about all of the the time. Then I bought a pocket Reporter to keep with my camera for notes on photos I take with my Holga camera. Then I bought another pocket Moleskine for keeping all of my work related notes, which I did all last term and will continue to do through this term. Just before Christmas I picked up a pocket Storyboard Moleskine, but I haven’t really used that yet. For Christmas I received a Weekly Diary, which I’ve started using already. I love my Moleskines.

I’m starting to use my Moleskine notebook more now. The latest thing that I’m using it for is to write down notes as I take pictures with my new Holga camera. It’s a film-based camera, so the information about the picture isn’t stored with it. I’m shooting my first roll of film now and I want to see what works and what doesn’t work. Having a great notebook with me makes it easy to write stuff down.

I’m using my Moleskine to take some notes, but I’m thinking that I need to organize and divide them up. I just have the pocket one now and I carry it with me wherever I go. It seems to be a bit of a journal. I’m trying to keep things that are more related to me than related to work. It may become a movie journal as I’m trying to write things down as I see a movie. I also have been wanted to do an electronic notetaking or moblogging after movies through my phone. But the phone doesn’t have the same feeling or cool factor as the notebook and my Pilot G2 pen.

The hot new thing for geeks is paper and more particularly Moleskine notebooks. I’ve bought one and I’ve used it a bit, but haven’t completely embraced it yet. Most of my organizing and writing and scheduling is still done electronically, but I’ve always had a notebook, especially for taking notes for projects that I’m working on, so it’s not a new thing. But reading about how people use thier notebooks made me want to get one, so I’ve started to use it. I also got a new pen. I think that I’m not the only person who loves to buy office supplies as a way to get organized… isn’t that the fun part about the beginning of the school year?
I like the way the Moleskine works as it’s well-designed and fits into my pocket, but I still haven’t figured out exactly what I’m going to with it (aside from general notes).
