I find not fixating on my weight helps me a lot. As a result, I don’t weigh myself. I use changes in by body to mark my progress or lack of. Weight is nothing but a number. Its more important to me to pace myself and make changes that are more permanent. In the past, I’ve focused on making decisions for my weight instead of for my health. I find making choices for your health are easier to implement overall because the choices for my weight were hard to stick to (e.g. crash dieting, working out in unsustainable amounts long term, etc.)
I try not to CHANGE the way I do things, I REPLACE them instead. For example, I used to cut out ice cream all together. Instead of getting rid of ice cream, I replaced it with fat free ice cream or sobet or sherbet.
Replace pudding with sugar free jello or low fat/fat free yogurt.
Make/eat healthier versions of of what you already eat. Don’t force yourself to eat things you don’t like while, trying new ways to make those things appealing to you. For example, like yogurt but I’m not a huge fan but I find that when I eat it with granola I’ll eat it a lot more.

I made the mistake of not eating much for most of the day and then getting potato wedges AND onion rings at jack in the box. With ranch dressing. :) I mean, it was a delicious mistake, don’t get me wrong! But not beneficial. Mostly since the potato wedges are over 700 calories just by themselves! Remember that, people!

My eating is kind of OUT OF CONTROL, and I know in order to lose weight I have to not only do the exercise I’ve been doing, but start controlling my eating. I have some serious binge tendencies and they have been out in full force lately.

I am having a really hard time with this. I have lost weight before, but lately I’m really bored and depressed and I just LOVE eating, and it’s all combined into this perfect storm of weight gain. I’ve been very bad at portion size. It’s easier to make myself exercise more than it is to eat less, so for right now, I’m going to focus on that. And hope that over time one healthy happy will lead to another.

I want to get down to 140. To accomplish this I’m going to limit my snacking and go to the gym at least three times a week. We have a very active summer planned with a lot of camping and hiking and I want to be in good condition to enjoy these things thoroughly!

I’m at 119. I’m going to keep going until I’m 115, but at this moment I can honestly say that I’m happy with my weight. So I’m going to say I’ve done this. =]
