ppl always give me shit bc i pay so much attention to the lyrics of songs. i really enjoy music and why wouldn’t you. but i guess that’s how songs like “lollipop” get popular and why 6 year olds are singing about giving blow jobs.
How to listen to music more
How I did it: i stopped relying on crap they play on the radio and went back to when there was good music....mainly 60s and 80s music. i have expanded my music library and now have much more to listen to, instead of just leaving the tv on as background noise.
Lessons & tips: expand your options past the radio and mtv.

music has made me quite sad in the past and recently but today, it’s been nostalgic and in a good way. i love how songs can bring you back to certain times in your life and make u smile just a little. or songs can just give a great message and even though u dont know the singer/songwriter, they make you feel like it’s all gonna be alright.
I think it’s strange that ppl judge you based on what music you listen to. The type of music you enjoy does not make who you are. I love pop music. In New York, people make fun of me because it’s “trendy”. And?? I’m sorry I don’t like indie rock? Who said I wanted to be “cool”? and who made these ppl those who determine what music is cool.
Anyway. I just bought the Jesse Mccartney cd. It rocks. And guess what, it’s trendy.
i’m taking my art history class online and i had to turn in my midterm by today so in order to get motivated, i put on some things i havent listened to in a while. paramore and the fray really got me motivated. i think i wrote some good essays but i’m not sure it was really what the instructor was looking for….
i havent really listened to music in a long while. i used to be passionate about a lot of groups/singers, but then just listened to whatever they played on the radio. the ppl i work with now are really into music and i remember a few things about the bands i was crazy about back in the day, but not much. i DO remember that they made me feel. and i think that’s why i dont listen to them now. i dont want to feel. i dont want to be forced to feel certain way. but i’ve dug some “tunes” out and im really enjoying this “feeling”. it’s not all bad feelings. it’s nice to be moved.
